Standing Seam Metal Roofing

Standing seam roof by Superior Roofing Systems

Why Choose a Standing Seam Roof?

Standing seam roofing is the best of the best. Here’s why—no exposed screws that might eventually leak, a beautiful look that increases your home’s value, and it’s the longest-lasting roof available. These roofs also work well with solar panels. Because of their durability and value, standing seam metal roofs are an investment that will pay off.

No Shortcuts, No Leaks, No Worries

To reduce your cost, we don’t usually remove shingles because it is unnecessary. To prevent horizontal seams, we roll out and cut the exact length of metal panels needed. There is no waste. Screws go through a hidden flange into furring strips we lay down, making them invisible.

Trim and flashing installation makes or breaks the quality and aesthetics of a standing seam roof. We cut a small groove into the chimney so the flashing is tight to eliminate the possibility of leaks. We make sure there is proper ventilation and change all the flashing around dormer. A vapor barrier guards against condensation.

40-Year Warranty — You Can Count On It

With the metal roofing material backed by a 40-year warranty against cracking and peeling, you can invest in a standing seam metal roof with confidence. The warranty also covers rusting and fading.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do metal roofs last?

We use metal that carries a 40 year warranty. The most important factor is proper installation, our team has unmatched experience and pay special attention to details that could potential leak to insure that your roof will last 40 years and beyond!

How much do metal roofs cost?

Typically the upfront investment is slightly higher, however a quality metal roof will last 2 to 3 times longer than shingles. In addition some of the cost can be recovered in lower insurance premiums, lower cooling costs and possible tax rebates.

Can a metal roof be installed over an existing shingle roof?

Yes, in most cases a layover is the best option. It is extremely important however, to install furring strips over the existing roof before the metal is installed. This provides much more material for the screws that fasten the metal assuring that they will stay tight and secure for the life of the roof, however screws that are just driven in to plywood tend to loosen in 8 -10 years.
